Reminiscing...

We just got back home from being out of town this weekend...and luckily, my child is taking a nap! So, I turned on the television (there isn't much of anything on)...for some, women's basketball would definitely fall into the "nothing on" category. However, what I just realized is this...Alabama vs. Florida is on tv-an assistant basketball coach on each team used to be good friends of mine. One, I played with in AAU summer basketball and against every year in highschool, so obviously I was closer to her. On the other team, I played against this assistant coach every year at camp and against once in college. After spotting both of them, I continued channel flipping...and came upon the Maryland vs. Florida State game. One of the assistant coaches for Maryland coached me in highschool.
Needless to say, thinking of these young women made me reminisce a little bit on my basketball playing days. It's amazing how people take different roads in life...those women are still in the world of college basketball, which provides little time for anything else. I on the other hand, may work my tail off in my professional career...but am fortunate to be home almost every night with my family...which I wouldn't trade for anything!
