If this doesn't fire you up...then you are out of touch with what is going on with our elected officials (Congressman in this case). I heard this today, looked it up for myself, and wanted to share it.
This past Saturday, Pete Stark held a townhall meeting...he is California's 13th district Congressman.
When asked about the border and immigration...he mocked the man (who is a minuteman I guess) asking the question. He also stated that the border was "quite secure"! What world is he living in? Is he unaware, as the rest of the goofballs in Washington, that we have a problem with illegal immigration in this country? Talk about mind-blowing...
Watch this youtube clip by clicking HERE. He calls one of the people in the audience a "wacko", keeps being a sarcastic smart-butt by saying everyone should carry guns and shoot the illegals...etc. This guy, along with many others, needs to get voted out as quickly as possible.
Last but not least, I have often heard that Republicans think they are "elite"...that Democrats are for the "poor man". That is bull...and if you don't consider this guy in the "elite" category, then you are missing it big time. He thinks he knows it all, that these Legal American Citizens don't know what they are talking about and acts as if they don't have a right to ask a question and expect an honest answer.
All I can say is...if you don't have a viable candidate in your district...REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER! We have to CHANGE who is running this country, and this guy is proof!

Christianity & Supreme Court Ruling...
As I was watching the news last night, the only Supreme Court decision reported on was the "gun rights issue." What you didn't see, was the ruling against a 'Christian Legal Society' at Hastings College of Law (which is located in San Francisco). The Christian Legal Society at this institution had a set of requirements for voting members. Among them, there was to be no sexual immorality...including adultery, fortification, and homosexuality. Now you see where this is going huh? A law suit was filed against the organization for discrimination...obviously because of their stance on homosexuality. It's so sad...Christians are followers of Jesus-Jesus is the Son of God-The Father, Son, & Holy Spirit are one in the same...Holy Trinity-and the Word (Bible) was God...all this according to the Bible. See where I am going with this...As Christians, we are to follow Christ and his teachings (which is the Word of God). So how can a Christian Legal Society be required to allow a lifestyle that is against their beliefs...it's bull crap to be honest with you.
If you don't agree with the above statement, then consider this...what if a Black Organization was required to accept a White Supremacist into their organization? It wouldn't happen, nor should it. This ruling is ridiculous...and is one that should make any Christian cringe. Our religious freedoms are being turned upside down...

Islam, Christian...deportation
White House welcomes Hamas, threatened by Christian
Click on the above link and check out this article. Undoubtedly a Christian convert from Islam (who also happens to be the son of a huge Hamas, Islamic extremist, leader) is in jeopardy of being deported...which will most likely end in his death.
The ironic twist, is that this current administration is allowing a known Hamas supporter enter into the US. That just doesn't make any since...so read the above article and keep this guy in your prayers. Luckily he is a Christian, but unfortunately his life is at risk to say the least.

Presidency = leadership
What is one of the main things that some of the media personalities were critical of when Obama was campaigning for President? His leadership ability...he had never been in that role or position before. It appears that these people knew what they were talking about. Think about the following:
~The oil crisis in the Gulf...He hasn't done jack about this. Yes BP is at fault and ultimately responsible, but more should have been done to contain the oil or clean it up before it got this bad. Instead, different aspects of our federal government have haulted cleanup (just google it...skimmer boats used to suck up oil were stopped recently=dumb...then when barriers were starting to be built weeks after the Louisiana governor called for them, another part of our federal government stopped them...is Obama in charge or what? He hasn't helped the clean up...we are on what day 64 or so...consider this worse than Bush's Katrina)
~Immigration...he is chicken to address this issue. Or maybe he isn't...he is addressing immigration by doing nothing! Afterall, if he were able to pass an amnesty bill...then he knows the once illegal immigrants would vote for the democratic party. Instead of leading our country in the right direction based on our constitution and laws, he is playing politics and not stepping up as a leader should.
~General McChrystal...should he (McChrystal) have spoken out against our President since he was over our military? Not at all...and he is obviously paying consequences for that. BUT, it also shows another point...good leaders earn and gain respect...Obama hasn't done this from our military personal yet. Afterall, it is hard to work for someone that you don't respect...and this was proof!
Leaders gain respect and honor...Obama has lost it from many who supported him throughout his campaign. I had a friend recently tell me that his mom was a supporter, but due to Obama's extreme agenda, has gone to watching the likes of Glenn Beck and Fox News. I don't even do that, so that should tell you something. The radio station I listen to, people constantly call in apologizing for voting him into office. They said they won't be misinformed again. So, remember next time to vote...what you see isn't what you always get. Some people listened to the negative publicity out there when Obama was campaigning (Rev. Jeremiah Right, ACORN, and other extreme influences in Obama's past) Afterall, the past is normally a good predictor of the future. Maybe Obama's lack of leadership was a part of his past that voters should have looked at more closely!

Seriously...mexico
Have you heard this?...that Mexico, yes our southern border, is taking Arizona's immigration law to federal court. Is that possible and even logical?

Obama + Father's Day Speech
Your President keeps pushing boundaries in many forms...the homosexual agenda is one of them. On Father's Day this year, he made the following statement:
"Nurturing families come in many forms, and children may be raised by a father and mother, a single father, two fathers, a step father, a grandfather, or caring guardian." His Mother's Day proclamation in May included nearly identical language and talked about how "nurturing families" can involve "two mothers." (You can read more about it HERE)
Only God knows a person's heart, so we can't truly know if a professing Christian really is or not. All we can do, once faith if professed, is hold someone's actions accountable. In this case, Obama truly needs someone to hold him accountable if his relationship with Christ exist. Let's face it...homosexuality is wrong according to the Bible, life is held in the highest regard (which means abortion isn't favored), prayer is important (but yet he wouldn't celebrate the National Day of Prayer while holding a party for Muslims during Ramadan)...do you see where I am going with this? This Father's Day speech is just another piece of the liberal pie...it may seem subtle to some, but was very planned and deliberate nonetheless.

Bitter Sweet Father's Day
Today was definitely bitter-sweet for me...I am married to a wonderful man, who is not only a great husband but a great father. That is obviously the "sweet" part of bitter-sweet. He is great to our daughter, and I know he will be the same to our soon-to-be son. You can't do much better than that...now for the "bitter" part...
Today is also the first Father's Day without my father...he passed away almost a year ago
(last July). Ironically, he was in my dreams last night and was able to talk with me. Whenever I have similar dreams of him being able to communicate, I remember being confused in the dream because I know how he was at the end of his life (He had Alzheimer/Dementia and was unable to communicate; the lack of eating is what finally did it). I woke up realizing I was able to speak with him in my dream, but that was really all of my thoughts on this Father's Day...until Church. For some reason the lack of my father hit me...and hit me hard. I couldn't quit crying or tearing up, regardless of me trying to talk sense into myself. Finally, the tears stopped...but reality sometimes hurts! It stung a little today...after all, my Dad was an awesome Dad to me. He loved me and supported me...and I miss that part of him. His last few years weren't normal by any means, but that wasn't his fault...it was the disease. It is hard to look past the last several years of his life, but you have to remember him for who he was and the love he gave not only me...but a lot of my friends growing up. I LOVE YOU DAD...and truly miss you!

Help with the oil spill...
So I heard about this the other day, and my husband had a similar conversation with someone yesterday. Why oh why (and I am truly asking for an answer if you have one) would we, the US, turn down help from other countries...in regards to the oil spill? People down there have been begging for help since the beginning of this spill over 2 months ago. Yet, countries like the Netherlands offered assistance back in April, and we turned them down? Makes no sense...and I truly feel like Obama should be pressured about this issue. Undoubtedly there is a 'Jones Act' that prohibits other countries ships in our oceans (or something to this act), but the Act can be waived. According to THIS article I found, it goes into a little more detail about this issue. It also says that President Bush waived this Act back when Katrina happened. So, why hasn't Obama done the same? It also states that the Netherlands offered help on building barriers to the marshlands down in Louisiana, but of course Obama wouldn't allow it. These are the things that Louisiana's governor, Bobby Jindhal has requested for months...with no help from our government.
So, BP has agreed to give $20 billion...so there is no question they are responsible for this mess. However, our current administration hasn't done jack to help with this mess. If you think they have, then let me know how. It doesn't make sense to turn down help from others when we aren't doing a good job ourselves. Hmmm, you think there is more to it....like 'Cap & Trade'?

Oil Spill...go away!
I haven't blogged about the oil spill in the gulf yet...and frankly I am not sure what to say. Everyone wishes it were over, that it were contained, that someone knew how to make it all stop. The reality, it's a mess and a lot of people are hurting down on the coast. Politically I have conflicting emotions on the issue...part of me wants to take up for the current administration because lets be honest, do you think they know about oil drilling a couple of miles under the ocean? Not at all...so I kind of understand why they haven't done much. On the other hand, being a leader doesn't always mean having the "cure" or the answer, but it does mean being seen and getting your hands dirty. (Like Louisiana's governor) He may not know how to fix the overall problem, but he is doing all he can do by being there for the people and being seen, wouldn't you agree?
After almost 2 months of this mess going on, Obama has finally had a press conference and without giving specifics...seemed to just talk "tough". I'm afraid the people on the coast directly being effected by this aren't in favor of just tough talk, but they are wanting results. Is this issue Obama's fault? Absolutely not...but neither was Hurricane Katrina George Bush's fault...and you would have to admit that the media has covered these two tragic events in two completely different ways. Bush was called some of the worst things in the world back then, and no one seems to be hard on Obama from the media's standpoint. Instead of it being the extreme poverty of New Orleans like in Bush's cases, it seems to be more of the hard working people that are being effected...is that why the coverage has been different? Different socioeconomic classes have been effected...just a thought.
One last note...Rahm Emanuel is quoted as saying “You don’t ever want a crisis to go to waste; it’s an opportunity to do important things that you would otherwise avoid.” (Emanuel is the Chief of Staff for the President). He made this quote back in 2008...and because of the economic crisis, we got Obamacare passed...now, we have another crisis...and what did the President bring up in his television appearance a few nights ago..."Cap & Trade". His energy and tax agenda that he is going to push during this oil crisis. Why can't he just step up and lead us through the oil crisis, and do it without pushing another crazy piece of legislation? "Cap & Trade (or cap and tax) is a bad idea...it will be a huge tax on energy use...leave your crazy agendas and ideas at home Mr.President.

Van Der Sloot & another murder...
I have been trying to keep up with the latest investigation of Jordan Van Der Sloot...mainly because I am from Alabama and have always wondered about Natalee Holloway's disappearance. Let's face it, did you not think he had something to do with her murder/or disappearance back then? I grew up about an hour from where Holloway went to highschool and practiced AAU basketball at Mountainbrook Highschool a number of times. I had a good friend that went to school there too, so it has always hit semi-close to home.
Now, this guy is connected to yet another murder? It's hard for me to believe that this is a coincidence...I was reading some articles on this tonight, and Van Der Sloot seems to have changed his story yet again. First he confesses, then he blames the Peruvian murder on robbers, etc...
what is wrong with this young guy? I feel sorry for everyone involved. If he is guilty (and he definitely appears to be) then it is sad it took a second girl's death to finally get him. I hope and pray that there is closure for the Holloway family. 5 years of not knowing what happened to their daughter has to be a nightmare...and then to watch this guy get captured in connection with another girl's death...
I know here in America it is innocent until proven guilty...but I don't think that is the case in most of the world outside of the US. I definitely wouldn't serve as a good jury candidate...my mind seems pretty set on him being guilty.

Road rage...
I will admit, I do have road rage from time to time...but rarely am I the victim of it. This evening, some guy almost lost his mind while driving behind me. We were still in our neighborhood so you can't drive too fast anyway, and there was a car in front of me slowing down to an almost complete stop. So what did I do? obviously come to an almost complete stop too while they figured out if they were turning or not. I am assuming that the male driving behind me thought I was doing that on purpose, so as I looked in my mirror I witnessed him shouting and pointing (along with almost rear-ending me literally). If he could only see how ridiculous he looked...being the nice driver I am, I pulled over to let him pass. All three males in the car gave us the stare...
Am I guilty of road frustration sometimes...yep. Rarely do I do what that guy did, but I guess it is all the same. Usually these frustrating times come near 201 poplar (the jail and courthouse if you aren't from this area) which I drive by almost everyday or in some of the rural areas that I go to when people drive under the speed limit. So, I am going to consider tonight as a self-check...are there times when you get frustrated driving? What ticks you off or gets under your skin?

Flying through the ATL...
Why oh why is the Atlanta airport so frustrating?...the obvious answer is because they are so busy. I had to fly back to Memphis yesterday from Virginia. I know my experience was small compared to some, but none the less, still not an ideal situation.
Because of traffic or weather in Atlanta, our flight from Virginia to Atlanta was delayed almost an hour (which did include some time sitting on the runway) There had already been some screwed up flights earlier in the day, so the poor man beside me was supposed to fly out at 2:30 and was just getting on the 7:oo flight that night. Anyway, I "thought" I was okay because the plane that took me to Atlanta, was supposed to be the one that traveled on to Memphis. However, that wasn't the case. This is where it all got a little more entertaining:
(Quick note...due to the plane over head bins filling up quickly on my flight from Virgina, I had to leave my carry on behind to be checked. I told the lady I was traveling onto Memphis, so she told me just to get it at baggage claim) So, we arrived in Atlanta...and being nice, I let some people run ahead of me to try to make their flights. I asked the flight attendant about my carry on, and she informed me that they weren't going to Memphis. So, being 30 weeks pregnant...I took of jogging! Just picture it now...I'm sure I made some heads turn, but I would jog and then speed walk trying to get to my correct gate at a different concourse. Luckily a couple of co-workers had already boarded (we had been on different flights), and had informed them of me running to make it. I made it to the gate while huffing and puffing with sweat dripping down, and made it on the plane! Thank goodness I didn't have to stay in Atlanta!
But it doesn't end there...we get to Memphis and of course...my luggage doesn't make it! Go figure right. The worst part, my car keys are in my carry on! So, I had to fill out all of the missing baggage information and get my co-workers to carry me home...which I didn't arrive here until after 12:30. As of 2:15...I have not had my luggage delivered, which means I do not have a car either. It is still sitting at the airport raking up a nice parking fee!
Gotta love flying these days...its chaos!

For the first time ever...
It is Friday night, and for the first time ever....we are those neighbors! You know, the ones who call the cops about a noise complaint. Please go ahead and laugh, but once you have kids you start to understand. We live in a neighborhood with zero-lot lines...and we have newer neighbors that live almost directly behind us. Yes they are young (and I am assuming professional school students), and they are renting the house in which ALL of the noise is coming from.
Here's the deal...if you move into a neighborhood that has a lot of young families then be respectful. Instead, they have been playing loud music...are literally yelling as they play beer pong in their garage (which their garage is behind our house). Therefore, I just called the cops for the second time. The first time...they must have spotted him, shut up, and everyone went inside. Now, I hope they don't see him as he comes...the police that is. What idiots and how disrespectful!
Is it sad that I am looking out the window to see their reaction when he arrives?! Exciting Friday night!

Groundhogs Day...repeat
Tuesday I witnessed something that literally brought tears to my eyes as I was working. While waiting in a doctor's office, a middle-aged couple came in to see the doctor. The woman went to the bathroom and as she was finishing up, her (I'm assuming) husband told her to wash her hands and dry them with the paper towel. No big deal right?
Then, it all happened again within a couple of minutes. She said she needed to go to the bathroom, but wasn't sure where it was. He told her which door, she did her business, came out to him asking if she washed her hands...then she asked if he had seen the doctor yet. He told her no, and that the nurses would call them soon through the door.
And then you guessed it...this routine started all over again. As she walked to the opposite end of the waiting room where the bathroom was located, she wasn't sure which door the bathroom was in. She said, "It says no smoking, which one is it?" Everything from that point repeated itself yet again...and in a patient manner, the man answered her concerns.
My heart started breaking and I couldn't get myself to snap out of it. Obviously for those of you who know me, I started reminiscing of my father's battle with dementia. This poor woman, who looked to be in her 60's...repeated this process atleast 6 times within a 20 minute period. Even as I was backing out of the parking lot, I saw this woman go back into the bathroom.
Dementia is a tough disease to deal with...
