is it the gun? or deeper than that?

Americans everywhere have to be asking...how does something like this happen (the school shooting that is)? Why does something like this happen? As humans, we want explanations and we can't wrap our head around these tragedies...it's horrible, not just this one, but all of them-Columbine-school, Jonesboro-school, Colorodo-movie theater, Portland-mall, Conneticut-school, let alone the NFL players murder-suicide...these are just the ones that makes the news.

For people like my agnostic friend...how can you not believe in evil after simply watching the news?
Evil exists, the Devil exists...and truly, as us humans and our society moves further from God...the closer we move toward the opposite of God, which is evil. It's obvious. This isn't a gun problem, because guns cannot shoot themselves...kind of like the NFL player who was drunk and killed his teammate in the car accident; that wasn't the car's fault, it was the drivers-the person behind the wheel.

But still it goes deeper. Ephesians 6:10-20 talks about putting the Armor of God...but also tells you why it is important to put on the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, the sheild of truth, etc. Why are we told to arm ourselves for battle? We have multiple defensive tools according to God in this scripture, and only one offensive weapon...the sword (which is the Word of God/His scriptures)

This is the bottom line...and it will come straight from Ephesians 6 "Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

The reasons these things happen, it isn't because God made them...it's exactly the opposite. Just as good and holy people exist and strive to be more like Christ, others are working for the Devil and his schemes. If you don't believe in so called spiritual warfare, then I suggest you open your eyes...you only have 2 sides to choose from; which are you fighting for? Just because you aren't committing acts this terrible, doesn't mean you're still not battling for evil...

Lastly, battles are won and lost daily...but the ultimate war has been won. Christ wins, so in a crazy world, take refuge in that.

Post election thoughts

I won't lie...I was in SHOCK this past week when Obama won (severly won via the electoral vote).
Before I go on, I will continue to pray over him...and for his true salvation in Christ, along with his family. That being said, here are my thoughts post election...

Some may not like this, but here my heart please...and know that I truly believe this after pondering this a few days:
Those who voted Democrat...usually, not always (so don't get mad if you are not in this category) vote with selfish intentions. Wanna know what I mean?
-Class warfare...Obama played this card like a fiddle...he played on the jealousy and greed of the lower/middle class with saying the wealthy have too much and have an unfair advantage. It's selfish to vote because people are "rich" and you aren't.
-Race...funny enough, Republicans have been told that they are racist for not voting for Obama...while 93% of Blacks voted for Obama. Hmmmmm? I doubt and know that policy had little to do with this.
- Homosexual agenda...this plays to a group of individual's identity, and they want recognition regardless of what the Bible says or the majority of Americans. It's selfish desire to vote on this one criteria.
-Hispanic vote...selfish desire to want to be citizens when we want people to come to our country legally, but this is advocating for illegal immigration...there is a difference, but the Hispanic vote went heavily for Obama.
-Handouts...yes, I said it...let's be honest, (and this isn't to those who are truly on a government paycheck out of necessity, etc) With more and more Americans going on food stamps, on disability, getting free phones, etc...why would the ones mouching off the system want their handouts to stop. So, they selfishly vote to get what they want and are accustomed to.

*Now if you truly think all of these things better our country as a whole, then maybe you weren't selfish in your thinking...but if you are catering to your own special interests, then sorry you voted selfishly.


You can not call me selfish for voting for fiscal responsibility, which helps the entire country.
You can not call me selfish for voting my Christian values...read the Bible, it is clear on certain issues that are best for society. Sorry recreational drug use isn't one of them.
You can not call me selfish for voting for someone who hasn't suppressed Christianity here in America...you guys get ready, we have been battling religious freedom, but it's gonna get worse.

I've said enough...you get my point. You may not appreciate it, but you get it.

VP debate...was there a winner?

There isn't going to be anything blockbuster about this post...just an honest assesment of the VP debate tonight. I will shoot you straight...Biden did better than I expected. Ryan did well too...they obviously have two different styles, and I personally think this is the key takeaway from tonight.
I will come at this from a salesperson perspective:

First...let's look at content:
Ryan likes to explain things, whether that be his position or policies...truthfully, for the average person watchign the debate...it may have even been too much and over the public's heads. BUT, if you are listening for plans, and to actually learn what their vision is...he is very precise.
Biden...he appears to throw "stuff" out there, BUT says it with assertiveness and confidence. So what I will say is this...just because you speak confidently, doesn't mean that what you are saying is true.

Next, let's look at styles:
Biden...assertive, confidence, and in the opinion of some...rude. My personal take...he was a little much in the interupting department (which obviously disrupts the content of the Ryan message). So, if you like the fact that Biden was rude in his smurks and interupting, then you will think he did a great job of going on the attack. He spent more time attacking Ryan, then actually telling the American public how these next 4 years will be any different than the last.
Ryan...he isn't a bulldog like Biden. Ryan is a thinker, and an intellect. So, if you were looking for content and explanations...then you appreciate him. He was respectful of the moderator and of Biden...and he did not play into Biden's theatrics.

So, do I think that this debate was a game changer...No. I think that Biden catered to his base (taxing the wealthy, and blaming Bush)...and I think the Ryan catered to his base. (Providing plans, solutions, and drawing contrast from the Obama administration).

*So I pose the question to you...do you want an administration that blames others, takes little responsibility (even though what Ryan said tonight was accurate...that you had a Demorat President, and Deomocrat House AND Senate...they could have done literally whatever they wanted to)...and from an economic standpoint did not get the job done
OR do you want an administration with a different approach...one that plans to create jobs, which would put Americans back to work, and cut spending where possible to help balance a budget (and actually pass a budget...keeping in mind that it is a fact, Obama has not passed a budget in 3 years)

If you know me, you know that I am watching this debate...and fuming at the dishonesty and deception coming from this President. Now before you quit reading, hear me out...this is a topic that I happen to know a little bit about, and luckily have the ability to talk to people in the healthcare community every single day.
FIRST...let's talk about Medicare. There HAS to be changes to this, OR IT WILL NOT BE AROUND WITHIN A FEW SHORT YEARS. Just because it is offered doesn't mean that it (it being medicare) will be accepted by offices. There are thousands of offices that have stopped taking new medicare patients all together...therefore, if you are ALMOST of medicare elgibility, these offices are not going to take you as a patient (So your healthcare is NO GOOD) It isn't about "having" coverage, it is about no one taking it.
Next, Obama is on the record saying he supports a "single payer" system..what do you think that means? GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTHCARE...do you not understand that people come to this country to get quality healthcare? They don't run to Canada or Europe for life saving surgery...
If I need a doctor, I simply go...that will fundamentally change under Obamacare.
Next, Obama keeps saying you can keep your insurance through work...what he obviously does not understand is this...the cost of healthcare has gone up since Healthcare Reform was implemented. Connect the dots...what does that mean? If companies can't afford their current healthcare, then those people go onto the government system...that does not mean you get to keep your current healthcare if your employer has to forgo insurance due to rising healthcare cost.
Next, regarding hospitals and test...if you happen to get in a life threatening accident, you will have various doctors and specialist treating you. When they do that, they all get paid for their expertise (whether that be critical care pulmonology for your breathing and lungs, or a cardiologist for you heart, or a neurologist for you brain function, etc) They should all get paid, because they are each individually using their skills to save your life...under this new plan, this will not remain in place.
They will simply get a lump some of money, regardless of care...do you not realize that this compromises care? Hospitals and physicians will not get paid if a patient is readmitted to a hosptial within 30 days of discharge...what do you think that means...that care will be compromised? If they are going to lose money and not get paid for someone returning to the hospital, they can't afford to operate.

*All I can say is this...do not let the smooth talking President fool you...he is truly deceiving the American people, and I can not stand for that.

Wow...knocking my socks off

Some reading this will think I am crazy, but join the club!!!
I am blessed to be at an amazing church and in an amazing Life Group (Sunday school class).
We have a leader who has been taking us through Romans, and explaining it...it can be confusing at times if you don't understand it. Not only that, but one of the women in our class has such Biblical knowledge...I am jealous. So, I have started taking a "class" on Sundays with the other women in our Sunday class...with this particular lady leading the way.

So, if you have ever wondered how people learn to disect, analyze, and apply that which is in the Bible...then pick this book up, "LORD, Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 days" by Kay Arthur.

I have been a Christian since Middle School...and literally until this point at 32 years old, have NEVER had anyone teach or lead me to study the Bible. I've known I should read it daily...and have fallen short of that expectation my whole life. I am not a 'reader' per se...but I like to study things that I am interested in.

To give you a small glimpse:
Day one takes the passage of Hosea 4:1-3, 6
1. Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel,
For the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land,
Because there is no faithfulness or kindness
Or knowledge of God in the land,
2. There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing and adultery.
They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3. Therefore the land mourns,
And everyone who lives in it languishes
Along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky,
And also the fish of the sea disappear.
6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being My priest.
Since you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.

*So in a nutshell...and there is more packed in this passage...the highlighted-blue is teaching us that this is in regards to the land of Israel, and it's people...the highlighted-yellow is teaching us what the lack of knowledge and/or the rejection of knowledge of God will cause...sound familiar? It should.

I can NOT take it...what I would ask Obama.

I'm obsessed with politics...it's probably unhealthy at this point, but I am still obsessed.
Why??? Because this is a crucial election...and I am watching a President who is misleading many Americans. I am literally shouting at the television at the garbage coming out of his mouth.

-He is still tauting climate change? Really? Scientist have proven that this is a hoax, yet that is how he is still trying to sell Americans on his crazy agendas. (and how he is catering to his environmental base)

-Oh, by 2020 we will have vehicles with higher gas mileage...sounds great, but how can people afford cars with new technologies, with higher gas prices might I add? It isn't feasible for a crappy economy.

-He just blasted Romney on not having a plan...but ironically has failed to mention his own? Oh...he doesn't have one. He didn't mention ANY specifics of a plan...NONE. can we say hypocrit for literally blasting Romney, and then doing less of the very thing he just said.

-Did he just say we've strengthened old alliances? HE HASN'T BEEN TO ISREAL SINCE HE BECAME PRESIDENT...THEY ARE OUR BIGGEST ALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. I'm pretty sure Condoleezza Rice nailed it last week when she stated neither our friends or enemies know where America stands on foreign policy.

-he also just said those countries in the middle east shouldn't have a dictator...BUT THEY HAVE THE FREAKIN MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN CHARGE NOW. THAT'S A RADICAL GROUP...
a jew and christian hating group...atleast Mubark was considered an ally in the past.

-he just said he will pay down our national debt and put more people back to work...rebuilding roads and infrastructure...THAT'S TAX PAYER MONEY...AND IS SPENDING MONEY, NOT CUTTING.
This is the man that has added 6 TRILLION DOLLARS IN 4 YEARS...more than any othe President in history. Do you listen to what he says, or do you pay attention to his actions and what he does? The proof is there from his actions.

-why is he obsessed with taking money from the wealthy? Who cares how much money others make?
I'm pretty sure envy and greed is considered sin. The rich do not pay less taxes...a smaller percentage doesn't mean less money.

-How are you going to reduce the cost of healthcare like you just claimed? The cost is going up...I'm in the industry, I know. I hear it everyday...that's why offices are rejecting new medicare patients. The government doesn't hold up their end.

-citizenship? His definition is SOCIALISM...that is not citizenship. What can be done by us, together???
we have heard about sharing, together, etc...being forced into that is socialism.

-He is promoting ILLEGAL immigration, to gain votes. This country is based on immigration...that's a good thing. But there are laws and rules to do it properly...and if kids were brought here illegally, then that is on their parents. That is the consequences literally, of the sins of the fathers. IT'S ILLEGAL.

-I wonder why he hasn't mentioned Solyndra??? Oh that's right...it's that solar panel company that he funneled money too in the stimulus package...that went out of business. That was money well spent right?

-every one gets a fair shot...and everyone does their fare share??? That's why people on food stamps have gone up to a record high of 46 million people? That isn't doing their fare share...that's mouching off the system OR for those who genuily need it, he hasn't created jobs to keep them off of food stamps. He has added to it.

***THINK ABOUT THIS...you have an ex-President who spoke last night: So you are going to trust a man who lied under oath during his Presidency, who lied to his wife, who is accused of raping a woman, has had multiple affairs, and who despised our current President a few years ago...but yet you are supposed to believe the things he said last night??? Ironic...

***THINK ABOUT THIS...this man has NO SOLUTIONS. So, he is "buying" votes...think about it...
he is buying the homosexual vote, he is buying the female activist vote (abortion rights/killing baby rights/reproductive rights), he is buying the hispanic vote (by breaking our federal laws and allowing illegals to be in our country)

***THINK ABOUT THIS...he had an outdoor football stadium set up to hold 70,000 people for this speech...and they moved it indoors. Oh, even NBC just stated that it is a clear night in Charlotte...
so it is obvious...they couldn't fill the stadium so they moved it indoors to house 20,000. (It wasn't about the weather)

I'M DONE...I'M SO FRUSTRATED AT HOW PEOPLE BELIEVE THIS MAN. Do not misunderstand me...Romney wasn't my first choice; I have reservations about him too, but nothing like I do on Obama. Obama is NOT a Democrat like years ago...he is very different, very radical, and very socialist. I will take my bet on Romney any day over Obama...not because of party affiliation, but because of policy.

So this President has added over 6 Trillion dollars to our debt in not even 4 years...truthfully, our government and economy will go Bankrupt if we have even 2 more years of this kind of spending.

~~~Oh, you wanted to talk about Food Stamps now? Our country has an all time high in the usage of food stamps...over 46 million people are on food stamps now. Although it was too high in 2008 also, there were 30 million people on food stamps when Bush left office. So, you have an increase of 16 million people added to the food stamp pay roll in only 4 years. That is NOT recovery!

Oh that's right...the last 4 years have had consistent unemployment rates over 8%. That doesn't those who are underemployed or was too prideful to draw and file for unemployment.

I get that this blog only looked at 3 #'s or aspects of the economy...but National Debt is a huge crisis that has to be addressed. Food stamp #'s prove that our economy sucks...16 million people added to that means less people having jobs that allow them money to provide for their family. THEN, the unemployment rate proves that there are NO jobs. Based on economics alone...we can't afford 4 more years.

Excuse me...did the middle class shrink over the last 4 years?

So the middle class has shrunk, and is poorer today than in the previous years...
google it; there are numerous things on the internet making this claim.(even liberal sources like npr etc)

So, how in the world are the democrats making a case about helping and supporting the middle class? Seriously? There is ZERO common sense in their message regarding this issue.
There are less jobs available, therefore there are less people working, and those who are working are making less money today than they were 4 years ago...so you tell me, why is the middle class shrinking?

Plain and simple...we have a President and Administration who does NOT know how to create private (non-government) jobs.

So, I watched the Republican National Convention last week...and have watched the first night of the Democratic National Convention tonight. Before I get into the nit and gritty of it, I will first say this...it is gross how much the "journalist", regardless of network, are in the pocket of the Democrats. Try to find a Conservative on ABC, NBC, PBS, etc...try...they aren't there. Therefore, the "slant" of these people is grotesque...

So, in case you missed it...every single speaker I heard tonight for the DNC spoke of women's reproductive rights (aka...KILLING BABIES) and people's right to love whomever they chose (GAY MARRIAGE).
That is the new party platform...literally. Now if you don't want to admit that these moral issues are Biblical issues...then let's move on to the next issue...the economy. Michelle talked about the 4 million jobs created, but amazingly failed to mention the 20 million + jobs that have been lossed. They bash Romney for his success, yet talk about them trying to obtain the same thing. Everyone wants their children to have more than they did...

Also, Michelle talked about her and Barack's similar upbringing...that's BS. Do you know Obama's background? Kenyan-Muslim father...Radical Mother who not only married and had children with Obama's dad...remarried an Indonesian man...moved Barack to Indonesia...divorced and moved back to Hawaii...
where he was given radical Socialist mentors to guide his upbringing...
Does this sound like the childhood you had? It sure isn't the one I had...I was born and raised in the South.
Not in different countries with influences that were anti-American. How could he understand America when he didn't even grow up appreciating it, or living here? That isn't a lie...it's the truth.

I don't agree with everything about the RNC...but I sure as heck agree with less of the DNC. You name it, and I almost disagree with it. Moral/social issues....disagree. Economics...disagree. National Security...disagree.

Take aways from tv station and RNC

This is an important election...a very serious election. Therefore, not because of political party per se, but because of the importance of this election...I have been glued to the television to here for myself...
to hear what the Republican ticket has to say about our future with them in the White House.
I have heard a lot of contrast between their plan, vs the last 4 years. I personally think the choice is obvious...if we are in the worst econcomy since the Great Depression, and the last 4 years is worst when it ends versus where it started...how is their a choice in that?

Here's the positives for me...Huckabee was excellent tonight; Condeleezza Rice was spot on about our National Defense (that is her forte)...She literally said, "If our friends and foes do not know where the United States stand in the world, that leads to chaos" Our biggest ally in the Middle East has been Isreal (Just read through the book of Romans and you can see how and why this should be our ally).
So, why has Obama NEVER been to see one of our greatest allies?

As for the VP candidate...Paul Ryan. I can not wait for a debate between him and Biden. Can't wait!
This guys economics and number crunching are evident...and he is embracing the challenge of what's ahead and willing to provide solutions and plans to help our country. As you heard tonight...President Obama proposed a budget a while back...and got 0 votes. That's 0 votes....0 democrats and 0 republicans. So, it is very simple...do you want more of the same or do you want true change. I have too many friends that do not have steady jobs, and haven't over the last several years. People have had to go back to waiting tables, to working at movie theaters, etc....when they are used to good paying careers, not just jobs.

You also recognize the diversity that the media tries to overlook. A number of the speakers have been women, minority women at that. South Carolina governor, Condi Rice, the first Hispanic governor spoke....but here's the interesting, almost conspiracy theory aspect to her. Because we do not have cable I had to watch on whatever station was covering the RNC. PBS picked up coverage early, so I stuck with them until primetime hit NBC. What I quickly realized was this...when the Hispanic Governor came on to speak, NBC did not cover her speech. They only talked amongst their political analyst...you wouldn't have even known how important that woman is, or who she was. The only reason I knew it, was because I flipped back to PBS who actually did a pretty good job compared to NBC atleast. So, be aware when you are watching any of these events or conventions...most of these political analyst are in the Democratic camp and you have to keep this in mind.

The grass is greener where you water it...

I heard that saying (the title above...The grass is greener where you water it) not too long ago, and the more I have thought about it...the more true I realize it is. So many people think the grass is greener on the other side, that many don't take time to make the most out of where they are...
this could apply to so many aspects of life...work, family, friends, and most importantly our relationship with God. I mean it, when I am studying/reading the Bible...praying...singing Christian music...I truly feel like I am walking close to the Lord. When I get busy and stressed with life (which happens more often than I would like to admit)...I don't have that same feeling.

Before I go on, let me say this...and encourage you...please get plugged in a church that teaches the Bible. We are more than blessed with our church home...our preacher is Biblical, and truly the best I have ever learned from...combine that with our Sunday school teacher (who just got his masters of divinity as well) and it makes for some good understanding of the Bible being thrown at us.

So, from our lesson in big church today...VICTORY OVER TEMPTATION.
Why is this important...because we are always being tempted by the evil one. What tempts me, may not tempt you...and vice versa. BUT, it is important that we stay aware...and are aware of the temptations that are present, so that we don't sin and seperate ourself from God.

      Three ares of temptation: (1 John 2:16)
      - Lust of the flesh
      - Lust of the eyes
     - Pride of life
3. Our victory over temptation (1 Cor 10:13)
HOW CAN WE DO THIS??? Going back to my Title...the grass is greener where you water it.
-pray  -avoid compromising situations  -Bible study  -accountability

And here were 12 ways to have victory over temptation:
1. Know that you are saved (2 Timothy 1:12)
2. Live in the Bible (Psalm 119:9-11)
3. Pray (Matt 26:41)
4. Seek God's way of escape (1 Cor 10:13)
5. Break/renounce "sins of the fathers" (Exodus 20)...for instance, things like anger, alcoholism, abuse, etc...these things usually pass through generations...and many other sins/footholds too.
6. Tear down personal strongholds of sin (2 Cor 10)
7. Draw near to God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:15-16)
8. Ask God to guide you (Psalm 32:8)
9. Avoid evil paths (1 thess 5:22)
10. Walk in righteous paths (Psalm 23:3)
11. Dedicate members of your body to God (Romans 6:23)
12. Associate with Godly people (2 Timothy 2:22)

*The Bible will help keep you away from sin OR sin will help keep you away from the Bible*

Russian submarine in our own backyard

Have you heard...supposedly there was a RUSSIAN submarine in the Gulf of Mexico for an entire month, WITHOUT the United States knowing? IF this is true...(and I say IF, because I have only seen this on the internet AND heard about it on the radio...I have seen ZERO primetime coverage)
then this is another reason to kick this administration OUT of office. This is a national security issue...then you add the economy and everything else...we need a change big time!
This national security issue and the economy effect everyone living here...this is about moral values, this is about the general welfare of our entire nation.

chick-fil-a...did you go?

Did you go to support Chick-fil-a today? As you probably assumed...I did. I went at breakfast...but drove by a different location during the lunch hour... it was slammed!!! I am so encouraged to see fellow Christians taking a stand and refusing to be bullied. Trust me when I say...if you take a stand, you will be persecuted. God gave us a free will to choose and decide for ourselves...it is a beautiful thing, but can obviously be scary too. Here's my parting thought... notice the difference... what did the free speech/Christians do to pledge their support?...they/we simply showed up and bought a product...in contrast, what do the homosexual activist plan to do Friday at the same family friendly location...kiss eachother. How classy! What I have learned from personal experience is this...those claiming the Christian community is intolerant, do the very same thing they accuse us of. It's their way or the highway...and in fact, are the very ones bullying Christians. Ironic huh?

Not your Grandmother's Democratic party...

It's official...the DNC, Democratic National Convention, has put homosexual marriage on their official party platform. So, there's a challenge to all you "Christians" out there. I mean it...the Bible is clear on this lifestyle and sin, and this political party is picking the side of the Devil.

So to make my point in the title...I realize there is a lot of history in politics. I realize that some people praise FDR for his "help" back in the day. I assume his intentions were genuine, but probably didn't have the forsight to realize the slippery slope of government dependence that would follow for decades. But, politics have changed...party platforms have changed.

For homosexual marriage to be a party platform, that's ridiculous. So, just be aware when you go to vote. In no way am I saying that Republicans are saints...so don't misunderstand me. BUT, what I will say is this...they haven't literally sided with what the Bible calls sin. Oh, and if homosexual marriage wasn't enough...don't forget your current President has gone to battle for the largest murderer of babies in our country...Planned Parenthood. Yeah, what a classy guy...not your Grandmother's Democratic party. People back then wouldn't have stood for this crap.

You better start praying people...this world is slipping away. On that note...I am so thankful that although this world is ugly, corrupt, and sinful...we have a Savior. He only requires one thing, for you to commit to Him...put your faith and trust in Him...and repent of your sins. Only then, when you come with a pure, repentent heart...and ask God to cleanse and forgive you, can you be saved. I pray you do that today...because we can't put any faith and trust in what this world has to offer.

Why bad things happen...

Why does God allow bad things to happen to innocent people?

This is such an age old question, that is so complex. I have heard some excellent commentary on it lately...the foundation is this:

We (humans) are innately sinful...we are born with a sin nature (Thank you Adam and Eve for the fall of man). It doesn't matter how "good" we are here on Earth, the only one we are to compare ourselves with is Christ...who was perfect. Next to him, we don't even begin to stack up to His perfection.
The hard reality is, we all deserve death...and we all will die in our physical bodies. BUT, we don't have to die spiritually...that is our option. Literally, either we accept Christ as our redeemer and savior...and have eternal life, OR we die not only a physical death...we die a spiritual death too.

So...we are born evil; only Christ can redeem us.

Then, you have the aspect that God gave us free will...basically, we have a choice between Him or the world. Think of it this way...say you are dating someone and you really want them to say those magic words, "I love you." Does it mean more if they truly feel that way and say those words out of love, OR if you tell them, "Tell me you love me right now." Hmmmm...it doesn't mean as much if you force them and demand it from them...get my point?
God wants us to choose Him...He gave us the option, the ability, to choose Him. He doesn't force us into obeying him...we do it because we love Him. So, that's where free will comes in...God doesn't force us to choose Him.

So, what happens when people make their choice...and they choose the world? Let's be honest...
If you don't choose Christ, then you choose the world. If you don't choose Christ, then you don't have the Holy Spirit (whom the Bible calls counselor) to go before you, to help make wise choices that will glorify God. The fruits of the Spirit are talked about in Galations 5...and that is what we are given when we have the Spirit.

At the end of the day...we are sinful human beings...who need a Savior and Redeemer. Bad things happen because EVIL exists...and because God gave us free will. Sure, God allows certain things to occur...that is the hard part to understand. Just re-read Job from the Old Testament...
Bad things happen because evil exists...although God has the power and authority to demand anything He wishes...he also gives us what we ask for. In our culture today, many people do not ask to be apart of Christ and his teachings...they reject him, therefore they play for the evil team. That's why bad things happen...people don't want anything to do with God while on this Earth, but they want everything to do with him afterward.

Finally, we live on Earth...not heaven. Bad things happen because our world has evil present...
heaven does not. Life can be hard...but it is temporary. Heaven and Hell are eternal...
where are you going to spend eternity?

Blacks and Obama

This is what gives me hope in more ways than one...The Coalition of African-American Pastors.
These men have made a stand for Christ and His teachings in the Bible (in regards to President Obama's homosexual activism and attempts to redefine marriage). These men have sent our press releases against our current Administrations stance on homosexual marriage...
living in a city like Memphis (one of the biggest key cities in the Civil Rights movement, where MLK was assassinated, and where racial tension is still evident) this gives me hope. In a city and culture where the majority of African-Americans voted on skin color, and bought into the hype of Obama years ago...many (white and black) have realized that Obama is not our Lord and Savior. Many people, regardless of race, are starting to realize that this man is legislating and attempting to legalize many things that are anti-Biblical.

Homosexuality is clear in the Bible. It is a sin...as many other things are. The difference with homosexuality, is that there is legislation and attempts to normalize it. We have to take a stand, not based on feelings and our homosexual friends/family, but on the Bible and what Christ stated in it.
The Bible is the foundation of ALL creation...our God is loving, but He is also just. He loves us, but he will condemn us and turn his back on us if we do not come to him. It is as simple as that...
either your love and stand for Christ, or you don't...

These men have made a big, public choice to stand...and I applaud them.
And on that note, I think Obama is in for a rude awakening this November election. Many people are convicted on Biblical issues like abortion and homosexuality...and Obama has chosen the wrong side on both of those Biblical issues.

Christianity vs Communism

Communism...taking what belongs to others, and giving it away. "What's yours is mine" mentality.

Our President hands down subscribes to this ideology...which is anti-American. I don't say that for shock value, but I mean it...he has been dividing our country for years now on the basis of victimization and envy. Have you actually heard him or seen him address unemployment, the economy? NOPE...all he talks about is taxing the rich because they have more money.

Here's the reality...who cares about the wealthy? It is their money...not the governments. If people who have been blessed with much want to give their money away, that is their right to give it away. BUT, it is not the government's responsibility to take it.

That's where the difference with Christianity comes in...Obviously Christianity is based on following Christ and His teachings (to be a follower you have to become a bond-servant to Christ...He is the only one that can save us) That being said, when you choose to follow Christ and his Biblical teachings, you begin to realize that EVERYTHING you have been given and EVERYTHING that you have, belongs to God. It is your and God's to give away...it's the "What's mine is yours" mentality.

So there in lies the difference...Obama's mentality which is a variation of Communism, "What's yours is mine." He will use power, class envy, victimization, and division to make this happen. If you are rolling your eyes at this...then all I ask is for you to listen to his speeches and his words with an open mind. He has divided our country, as opposed to uniting it.
Christianiy opposition to Communism is, "What's mine is yours." That is the choice that us individual Christians make...it is not the government's responsibility to make the decision for us.

Last but not least...we have to get this ideology out of Washington. Become informed...and don't be deceived by our current President. His ways truly are anti-biblical...and that's a scary fact.

Rules by the Fathers

This will be a strange twist on Father's Dad, but here we go anyway:
So, one thing Fathers do is give us rules to abide by...whether for our own good, our protection, or just because.

Our Heavenly Father has given us numerous guidelines found in the Bible. The ironic part of following Christ is that it isn't about the rules, but it is about accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior...and out of the love and worship of Him, we want to obey the rules and laws he has given us. However, through God's word in the Bible...we know what God expects of us, what he warns us of, and what following Him actually looks like. He is the ultimate Father and authority figure...period.

Here on Earth, and in the United States, we have founding fathers. It is crazy to me that hundreds of years ago, these men knew how corrupt and evil human beings could be. Therefore, they created a Constituion or laws...to protect the citizens from the government. They put into place a system of checks and balances...brilliant to say the least, compared to any other country/nation on this earth.

Fathers are important...the ones mentioned above are, and the individual fathers we all have are. Parenting and especially fatherhood, is the most critical job anyone could have.

So what do we do with rule breakers? What do we do when people of authority break rules...rules and guidelines given by our Heavenly Father, and rules given by our founding fathers?
For some reason, this popped in my head today...
Rules are in place to deter chaos, to deter a blurring of lines, to keep things in order...when rules are broken, things are allowed to get crazy and for lines to be blurred.

This is where our current President has slid down a HUGE slippery slope. He is breaking rules left and right, both on a earthly level and heavenly level. This will have consequences in many ways, many of which are probably unseen and not even imagineable yet.
In regards to laws/rules being broken on an earthly level...he is deciding what rules he wants to break or not reinforce...HE IS NOT A KING, AND DOES NOT HAVE AUTHORITY TO ACTUALLY DO THIS. Example--> He has decided that illegal immigrants can be granted a path to citizenship (when we have laws that give people opportunity to do this in a legal manner). This is a controversial issue to say the least, but we still have LAWS that he is choosing not to enforce. Want another example, not enforcing DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act). This is a law signed by Bill Clinton, and Obama asked this law not be enforced...he has gone above the law, and decided our military and federal government accept homosexuality and the unnatural marriage associated with it...
that not enough for you, here's another example...Voter fraud and intimidation. Obama and his self appointed Attorney General Holder dismissed obvious, proven bullying at the polls. Remember the Black Panthers set up outside the voting station...this was caught on camera, and they did NOTHING about it. You don't think that's a bid deal...try living in Memphis and realizing how easy this could happen.

As if breaking the laws of our own land were not enough...our Administration is also breaking laws and rules set forth by our God. Now don't get me wrong, we all sin...I realize that. But, this administration has gone against our Lord and Savior, and have condoned homosexuality at a federal level...when the Bible is clear on this issue. Obama's support of condoning abortions with taxpayer funding is another key negative...No, he is not the only one guilty of these things...BUT, as President he is responsible for the rise and fall of this great nation. I do not feel that our Heavenly Father will bless a nation that goes against His very teachings. We have to fear and revere God...and this administration does not do those things.

Rules and Laws are put into place for a reason...Fathers play a crucial role in the discipline and enforcement of these rules. (That includes our Heavenly Father, and founding fathers)

Romans

I encourage you to read Romans...even if you have read it a million times. There is so much wisdom and truth in this New Testament book of the Bible.

Romans 2:2..."Now we know that God's judgement against those who do such things is based on TRUTH."
Romans 2:13..."For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous."

Romans 3:4..."Let God be true, and every man a liar."

Romans 3:22-25 (some of the most popular scripture from this book)..."This righteousness from God  comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Ther is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through redemption that came by Christ Jesus."


In summary...God's word is the only TRUTH...It isn't those who hear the law that are righteous, but those who obey it...We have all sinned are unworthy, BUT Jesus Christ is able to redeem us and pay the price for us when we give our life to Him...

I truly pray that anyone reading this comes to know the one and only SAVIOR and LORD, Jesus.

This series dives into a lot of different aspects relating to TRUTH. Think about the world and culture we live in today...people and society are truly trying to create their personal version of truth. Most people don't even know why they believe what they believe. For us Christians, we KNOW that the Bible is Truth...but a lot of people do not like what the Bible says, so they try to create their own truth.

Here are some of the highlights from my notes:
In John 18: 33-38 Jesus said (vs 37) "In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

John 8:32..."Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Lies take us captive...Truth sets us free.

John 14:16-18..."And I will ask the Father, and he will give you a Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of TRUTH,"

John 16:13..." But when he, the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into Truth."


We have 2 sides to choose from...and 2 sides only. Truth or Falsehood. (Good or Evil)
Think about it; this started with Adam, Eve, and the Devil in the Garden...back to Genesis.
That battle is still being fought today...our media, our President, our overall government, our celebrities, and so many more are throwing arrows that are detremental to our society, our culture, and our Christian livelihood. We have to know TRUTH from falsehood.

Jesus is the ONLY way in which we can be free, because he is the TRUTH. His Bible is the word of God...and it is absolute TRUTH. (yes, the whole Bible...not just bits and pieces)

I beg you...please look at this. We have to know what is TRUE, especially this day in time. I know that some of my readers may believe I am homophobic...that I don't know one gay person; in reality, that couldn't be further from the truth. I have become so passionate about that subject, because I have seen how devestating that lifestyle can be. I've played ball with homosexuals, I've seen friends become devestated from that lifestyle, not to mention the CDC warnings on that lifestyle, and so much more....more importantly, the Bible warns of that lifestyle (along with many other sinful lifestyles). The difference between homosexuality and the other sins...this lifestyle and group of people have an agenda (a political and legislative agenda that is forcing their beliefs on ours). That is for us to believe it is okay, for society to accept it as normal...
Don't believe the lies from our President, our celebrities, or anybody else...GOD calls this lifestyle an abomination. That is TRUTH...like it or not. We don't get to make our own truth...because truth is unchanging.

Why my kids will not go to PUBLIC school

What are schools supposed to do? Dumb question you might say...educate our kids correct?
So why is our current administration and current Obama appointed Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan promoting homosexual marriage? He is the head of the entire public school system under the Department of Education...yet we need to know his political views of homosexual marriage. Please know that this homosexual agenda is being promoted in public schools...

The most recent publication of the NEA magazine (National Education Association) had a spotlighted superhero of the classroom...it was a gay teacher from California, who admitted to pushing his agenda while in the classroom. Do you call that a hero? and this guy sponsored the GLBT organization at that school too.
So you have the head of education in the United States making his sexual behavior views known, you have the national union of teachers (NEA) applauding a homosexual activist, and much more. Heck, schools around here in Memphis have GLBT organizations in schools...why would schools allow organizations that promote sexual behavior of any kind? Also, remember from 2009-2011 the founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) Kevin Jennings also worked for the Department of Education...

Like I said...the homosexual agenda is being openly promoted to kids in the public education system. Don't get me wrong, I realize that there are some good schools...some good communities...and some good parents with no other choice. I am not faulting anyone, but simply wanting you to be aware of the battle for your kids' mind. You have to be aware that this agenda is being pushed down to kids in the public school system.

As for my household, we have been discussing the future education of our kids alot lately...
afte Arne Duncan, Joe Biden, and President Obama all came out this past week promoting homosexual marriage...our decision was clear. We will put our kids in a Bible believing private school...luckily there are a lot of options in Memphis. At the end of the day, we want our kids to be in an environment that fosters the same moral values that we have at home. Raising our kids in a Christian environment, with the ulitmate goal of their salvation in Christ Jesus is our #1 priority!

Obama's support of gay marriage is NOT THE MAJORITY

In lew of our un-Biblical President...I wanted to share a few statistics with you regarding homosexual marriage here in the United States. I truly think this was a DUMB move for Obama...sure, he pleased his homosexual base with his support of gay marriage (so he secured a few votes there).

But here is the reality, for Obama and all of the homosexual activist out there: over 1/2 the states in the United States have voted AGAINST gay marriage...and they have went out of their way to amend their state constitiutions to define marriage as being between a man and woman. (Oh wait, isn't that in the Bible...so it dates back to the beginning of man kind too...probably not smart to go against what God ordained, but that's a different issue) Not only that, but we do have a FEDERAL law known as DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act signed by Bill Clinton that defines marriage between a man and woman...but this administration under Obama and the horendous Attorney General, Eric Holder has decided to not enforce the law...so much for promising to uphold our country's own laws)

Oh and for the record...the states that have legalized homosexual marriage...it hasn't been a vote of the people. It's been judicial activist in the form of govenors or judges; it hasn't been a vote of the people in those states (here they are...Conneticut, Washington DC, Iowa...which the judges who made this ruling were voted out of their positions, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont & Washington and Maryland should be approved within next year)

In need of a heart transplant

Are you in need of a heart transplant...from Jesus that is?
Our preacher was unappologetically defending the phrase, "ask Jesus into your heart" today.
He gave us a list of versus that speak to the issue of RECEIVING Jesus...it isn't merely believing that He exist. It is receiving the Holy Spirit (which is part of the Trinity...Father, Son, Holy Spirit...which are all equally God) I heard someone draw an anaology of the Trinity being like that of water (you have running water, frozen water, boiling water...all water but in different aspects, which is similar to that of the Trinity...all God, but different aspects)

Anyway to my point...we know that receiving the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God the Father transforms lives. But we all have a decision to make...and it is a decision that we can not stay neutral on. Either you ask Jesus to transform your life (repent of your sins and Trust in Him) or you continue to live in wordly ways which is opposite of God's calling and best for us.

Ezekiel 36 talks about the giving of a new heart.
Ephesians 1 talks about being SEALED with the promised Holy Spirit.
Galations 5 is known for listing the fruits of the Spirit...if you have received and asked for the Holy Spirit, then this chapter lists characterisitics that should be noticeable.

The following is a list of versuses given today during church...these are about receiving Jesus:
John1:12, 3:11, 3:27, 3:32, 3:33, 7:39, 12:48, 13:20, 14:17, 17:8, 20:22

At the end of the day...we are all in need of a heart transplant. We need Jesus, by way of the Holy Spirit, to enter into our hearts and transform us. That is the ONLY way to Heaven, it is the ONLY way to receive God's best for us, it is the ONLY way to have the fruits of the Spirit (love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control), and it is the ONLY way to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

You can not remain neutral...either you are walking with God, or you are not. You can not walk with God if you haven't received His Holy Spirit (repent, believe, and be baptized...if you haven't done any of these things...I urge you to. After all, they are commanded in the Bible)

Powerful story...hit by a drunk driver

A benefit of my job is the time I spend in my car...90% of the time I am either listening to Christian music or Christian talk radio. Last week I heard a POWERFUL story and thought it was worth sharing for numerous reasons.
Literally the day before I heard this, I was in an office working and had an employee there telling me of her son who had been hit by a drunk driver (an illegal immigrant at that). She showed me pictures of her 23 year old son...and all I could do is promise to pray for her. Then the next day, I heard the following:

On November 5, 2006, while driving home from church, the Barrick family was struck head-on by a drunk driver going 80 miles per hour. Andy, Linda, 15 year old Jen and 11 year old Josh sustained life-threatening injuries.
All four were rushed to different hospitals. Jen was not expected to live through the night, but God miraculously intervened. She was in a coma for 5 weeks and had severe traumatic brain injuries and multiple skull fractures.


Here's the amazing aspect of this story...this 15 year old girl had such severe injuries that she was in a coma for 5 weeks, she had to relearn almost everything, and she was in serious trouble. She couldn't even speak. The only exception to her speaking was when she was talking to God. She would pray and have conversations with God, and her family could listen to her speak clearly throughout the process. But, when those prayers and conversations stopped...the girl couldn't make words that anyone could understand. For everything this family has been through...their faith and trust is 100% in the Lord. I couldn't imagine what this family has indured and been through...but it is hard to doubt our God after seeing this story. God works in amazing ways...

Jews?

My spouse brought a movie home the other night..."The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" I believe is the name of it. It gives an interesting perspective on the Holocaust, and is a small history lesson in itself. But, the question that I came away with after watching is this...

Why has Isreal and its people been such a huge target over the years? You look back at Hitler, Germany, the Holocaust, and all of the Jewish people that were murdered. Horrible.

Fast forward to today...and you have the Islamic nations literally wanting to wipe Isreal off the face of the Earth. Why? Where does such evil come from?

So here are some of my thoughts...In the Bible, God calls the Jews his chosen people. We know Jesus was King of the Jews...we also know that the Bible is clear on standing by Isreal (and is the underlying reason why the United States has always found an ally with Isreal-and why it is important to keep it that way)

I just find it Ironic...Isreal is the ultimate Holy Land for Christians and Jews, yet it has always been a target of evil...which we know comes from the Devil.

Something to think about...and watch the movie if you've never seen it. I had never heard of it and I couldn't stop watching it...and I will be honest, it is tough to watch. I can imagine treating other human beings like that.

Marxism...is this possibly the ideology driving our President

Okay...I have heard a lot of people make the comment that they believe Obama is a Marxist. I don't know if you are like me, but other than the name...I didn't know the meaning of Marxism. So, I am going to provide 2 links to the definition and description of Marxism and let you decide.

If you want my opinion on this particular issue...it sounds a lot like the ideology that is driving our President. He truly is a "divide and conquer" President...who has been playing class-warfare like a pro. All we have heard about is taxing the rich to get more of their money & when you think about the extreme way this President has grown our government with handouts...it makes a lot of sense.
To make a long story short, Marxism talks about class struggles...it talks about capitalism opressing people and being taken advantage of by their employers, etc...this sounds exactly like our President and is a dangerous way of thinking.

Santorum out...

So my boy Santorum dropped out of the race today...I am saddened by the news, but obviously can't do anything about it. I do have big concerns from this point on in the race...
So, if Romney does get the GOP nomination...then yes, I will have to vote against Obama. Obama has been a terrible leader and has done NOTHING to deserve another 4 years. I truly do not think our county can take 4 more years of that man making decisions.
There are alot of similarities that I do not like with Romney and Obama, BUT there are some differences that would be worth giving Romney a shot:
- The economy...Romeny has proven to be a great/successful business man. That is hands down what we need right now...someone who knows how to run a business and treat our country like that from a financial/job creating standpoint.

-Moral values...they both suck from a legislative standpoint (abortion and homosexual marriage...2 Biblical issues for sure)
-Religion...they are both controversial on this point, which would explain the point above. I do believe the Mormon issue will be a big topic coming up; but on the other hand, Obama can give lip service to God...because his actions are the opposite of what the Bible teaches. Take that comment for what it's worth...Obama's "fruit" does not look like that of what Christ says.
-Big government...no doubt Obama is far worse; but Romney can't talk much...just luckily for him, compared to Obama, his is better...which isn't saying much.
-Electability...yes, Romney will definitely pull the independent, middle of the road voters...but I do think alot of conservative Evangelicals will have trouble voting for either of these men. I think that is a bad thing...because it is our duty to vote...and honestly, we can not give Obama more time in the White House.

*Ughhhh...so disappointed. Not excited about this election at all now...

Playing with fire...Petrino

I just saw on the internet, the Arkansas did fire their head coach Petrino...in case you have been under a rock: Last week he was involved in a motorcycle accident, in which he announced that he was by himself. Then, the police report was released...which stated there was a 25 year old female with him; she worked for the football team, and he was having an affair with her.

All I can think about is how much he had at stake...and how the Devil must have made this woman (who was obviously not his wife...and she was engaged to another man) look so good in his eyes. Crazy enough, the Devil wants us to fail; The Devil fills our head with lies, and with lies that are not logical. This temptation, and then the action of the affair has and will cost Petrino ALOT. He has now lost his job, ruined his reputation even further, no doubt ripped his wife's heart out, more than disappointed his 4 children, disappointed and been the opposite of a role model to his players, made his employer-the University of Arkansas look bad, etc. (not to mention the other half of this affair...she has ripped the heart out of her soon to be husband, both of their families, their friends, and hurt her future career.)

That is my point...the Devil doesn't use logic when tempting. He decieves us..."no one will ever know", "it will only be one time", etc...but that doesn't happen. These things always comes out.

The flip side of the coin is one of the fruits of the Spirit that is talked about in Galations (meaning if you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you as a result of asking Jesus Christ to come into your heart)...the particular fruit of the Spirit in this case would be self control. We have to be very aware of the battle for our mind and soul...
I challenge you to compete on behalf of the Lord...practice and pray for self control. Trust me, you do not want what Petrino and all those involved have coming...there is no way that affair was worth it.
(And we know how close to home this issue hits...I have a neighbor whose soon to be ex-spouse cheated on her, I know of another person that my husband and I recently found out had had an affair a while back-disappointing is an understatement, I know a preacher who is more than legal hot water for taping women without their knowlege...yes he was married with a newly adopted kid, and so much more...this stuff is going on all around us)

The media...pushing the limits again

As a mom of 2 small kids, I have to be aware of what the media is pushing down our throats (whether it be radio or television). Some people may think this is crazy, but the media is always pushing the limit on morality. This blog post could go into a number of different topics (like Jennifer Love-Hewit's new show where she is a prostitute, or the GBC show that is out...which stands for Good Christian B*^#%es, etc)

Sad to say, but this is the junk our media is pushing onto us and our families...some may say it is simply entertainment, but I think it does much more. You look at homosexuality for instance...every sitcome or show has a homosexual in it now...with the help of the media, homosexuality is becoming "normal" on our society (although the Bible clearly states in black and white that it is not...regardless of what our society says, God says homosexuality is a sin just like lying, stealing, murder, etc)

While the media has helped push the gay agenda, it is now pushing the 'transgendered' agenda...take Dancing With the Stars last season...Chaz Bono (born a girl, changed with surgery into a boy). Then literally this week alone, I have seen 2 seperate stories about other transgendered people. The first, a male Chinese dancer who had his body surgically changed into a female...then you have the whole Miss Universe contestant from Canada...who Donald Trump completely gave into when this contestant hired Gloria Alred as an attorney. This person was born a boy named Walter...while a teenager, this boy underwent a sex change (and on a side note, the surgery was paid for with Canadian tax payer  money under their universal health care...ridiculous)...so this pagent contestant was born a boy, transformed into a girl...and now competing as a female in some of the biggest pagents in the world.

I have compassion on people...and I truly feel sorry for these people. I do think they need help...and possibly the only help is that of a transformation that only Jesus can give...from the inside out, not the outside appearance. Regardless of what the outside shows, we know it is what's on the inside that counts...and on this issue, God creates us all...and He created these people a certain gender. Sorry if it isn't the gender you want so to speak...
just don't let the media distort the truth once again...

you were born a man...

"You were born a man"...enough said.
That would be my non-politically correct statement to the wanna be Miss Universe contestant. I do not care that you are transgendered, and felt like you should be a woman...the reality is this, God made you a man...and nothing biologically changes that. There are also rules, and being a born female is one of them in this case...(to enter into the Miss Universe contest)
It is just annoying to see people like this try to force others to accept them...when in fact, they don't accept themselves and are continuously changing themselves. So, to this man-woman and her attorney Gloria Alred (who is a fame seeking attorney)...give up this crazy mind set. We don't have to accept it...

missed the point...

There was a news story out of Memphis this past week that broke my heart...and for many reasons.
The story was about a non-married couple who found themselves expecting a baby, they got into an argument over terminating the pregnancy (the woman wanted to kill her baby via abortion) and the guy didn't want that to happen. So, he snapped and ended up strangling a puppy...which is sad.

So now you have the summary, but what is so crazy to me is what everyone has seemed to focus on...
the fact that this violent man strangled a puppy and killed it. Don't get me wrong...that is awful and we know that people who practice cruelty to animals often take their anger out on humans too, so I am not dismissing what he did. In fact, I was in an office just this week when this story was on the television in the waiting room and someone sitting near me said, "Ugh, he killed a poor puppy!"

BUT, have we as a society grown so numb to this abortion issue...because I haven't heard one person show compassion or heart ache for the baby that the mom wanted to kill via abortion (and I'm sure that is still the plan). That's a living human being...and yet we feel more compassion and sympathy to a puppy. Really? Now human life is less important than that of a dog? In no way what-so-ever do I condone that man's actions...but no one has seemed to focus on what enraged this man. No one has thought about the fact that this man realized he had a baby of his own DNA in this female, and she (not him) wanted to terminate this pregnancy. This story alone proves how ugly abortion is...women make the call, and men have no say so in the matter. This man took his anger and hurt out in the wrong way no doubt...

It breaks my heart to see how numb we are to this issue...how the liberal media has spun this issue to say babies growing in their mothers' womb are just a blob of tissue...that's wrong in so many ways. That being said...we all know people who have been associated with abortions. The beautiful part is that if we ask for forgiveness, God forgives. There are ALOT of hurting men and women out there who have been involved in abortions...but any of these people can be forgiven by Christ if they belong to him and just ask. I appreciate the few people who have told me their stories over the years...we all have those people in our lives, whether we know it or not. Statistics prove that it affects more people than we would ever think possible.

Why religion is important...

Obama made the news tonight because of voters in southern states second guessing his religious beliefs.
Some say he is Muslim, some say he is Christian, and others obviously didn't know or care.

Here's the deal...Obama has claimed to be Christian. That being said, only Jesus knows the condition of his heart and knows where his eternity lies. The sad thing in my opinion (and Obama is not alone), is that there is even a question of this...let's be honest, as Christians...it should be obvious that we are followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ taught us how to live our life, and that He alone transforms lives. Plenty of people CLAIM to be Christian, but there is no doubt in my mind that many offer Him lip service and say one thing, without giving Him heart service and literally living your life for him.

As for Obama, and any Presidential candidate for that matter...why is faith/religion important? Because it is a lifestyle and ideology...if one claims to be Christian, then Jesus said we will know them by their fruit. (this is honestly why there have been so many questions regarding Obama's religion...his fruit DOES NOT match up to Jesus's teachings and the fruit that comes with being a follower of Christ). Santorum is Catholic...his positions on key issues are biblical, and he is being persecuted for speaking out on them. Romney...we know he is mormon; this means we should know his ideology and what he stands for. My point is...religion is a lifestyle. That way of thinking coorelates with behavior.
When people claim one thing, but their actions are completely different from the lifestyle they claim...
then we can see where the confusion lies.

The moral of the story...practice what you preach. If you are a follower of Christ, then FOLLOW Him closely. Jesus transforms minds and lives...and when you come into contact with Him, you will have fruit that represents Him. Do not leave room to be questioned...

Tebow of Karate...

We have Tebow in football...Jeremy Lin has made a name for himself on the basketball court (and is a strong Christian)...and now I found out about another strong Christian in the sport of Karate. Yep, you heard right...Tom Scott is his name.

Funny enough, I sat by this 22 year old on a plane this past week...He is the top 165 lbs karate guy here in the US, which is why he is on our US National team (Karate isn't a sport in the Olympics, but if it were he would be on the team). This kid has a passion for karate, for Christ, and for his family...
all of which was encouraging to see out of a guy who hasn't even finished college yet.

Pray for this kid...he wants to use his name in the karate world to reach others for Christ. He has been raised in the Catholic church, is involved in a Christian student ministry at his college in Texas, and has the privilge of traveling all over the world competing in karate tournaments. He wants to witness to those on his own team, as well as other competitors. He really seemed like a good kid, so let's pray God uses him in the karate world and beyond...

Gas Prices are INTENTIONAL

Unless you ride in a horse and buggy, most everyone knows that gas prices are on the rise and are expected to be over $5/gallon this summer. So what's the deal you might ask? Well, don't believe the crap from some of our liberal friends who have honestly stated that it's because our economy is recovering...that's just dumb and make no sense at all. (Pelosi and Valerie Jarrett-one of Obama's top people have both made this statement recently...which is ridiculous and goes against common sense).

Could a rise in gas prices possibly be due to the Middle East that is always under chaos...possibly. (Another reason we need drilling here on our own land...or to approve the Keystone pipeline from Canada)...OR PERHAPS THE REAL REASON IS BECAUSE OUR GOVERNMENT IS INTENTIONALLY DRIVING UP PRICES TO FORCE YOU TO BUY AN ELECTRIC CAR...that makes a lot of sense in a crappy economy huh?

In case you haven't heard, our Secretary of Energy appointed by Obama is Steven Chu. A few years back, Chu made a statement regarding our gas prices here in the United States. He said that gas prices need to hit the cost of that in Europe (which was about $9-$10 per gallon at the time) in order to cause a crisis...which in his mind would force Americans to get rid of their gas powered vehicles and move toward electric vehicles. So google it if you don't believe me...he made these remarks and then Obama appointed him into office (Doesn't he sound like someone who is really looking out for the everyday American in this crappy economy? Not so much)

So remember this as election season is among us...do you really want people with this ideology in charge? This may seem minor to some, but it is apart of an overall crazy ideology going on in our government right now. And let's just be honest...as gas prices continue to go up, just remember Obama appointed this man to his position even after these comments were made in 2008. Sounds like they are really looking out for the poor/middle class man like they say...not so much.

Marriage 101

Ive been eager to blog this for over a week now, and am just finding the time. My spouse and I attended our first marriage conference a few weeks back. I wanted to share the 7 things on the list for men and 7 things on the list for women...in order to have a working/functional marriage: (we discussed these in the Sunday school class we attended the following day, so some of them have a few notes added to it)
MEN
1. MAKE SURE YOU ARE SAVED...when the man is following the Lord, the girl doesn't mind following and submitting to him.
2. STAY FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT...our preacher literally ask for this daily. Upon being saved and asking the Lord to come into your heart, the Holy Spirit is decended upon us. According to him, he asks the Spirit to continue to speak to him and fill him.
3. SET FREE FROM STRONGHOLDS...don't give footholds to the Devil for him to manipulate and take advantage of. Ask for freedom from these and for God to show your sin (obvious ones that affects many homes is porn, sexual addiction/deviancy, emotional relationships, etc)
4. BE INTIMATE...open communication with your spouse, date and persue your spouse, romance before sex, compliment her character more than her physical beauty, praise her publicly and privately.
5. BE A PROVIDER...this is emotionally and spiritually too. But from a financial standpoint, give her the freedom to stay at home with children (so try to live off of one income if possible). Money comes from the Lord and the talents He has given you, so lead the way on tithing and giving to the Lord.
6. BE HER PROTECTOR...physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
7. BE A LEADER IN ALL WAYS...the Lord calls men to lead.

WOMEN
1. LOVE THE LORD...spend time with him daily (finding time to do this can be hard between family and work, but it is essential)
2. LOVE/RESPECT YOUR HUSBAND...affirm him in public and never speak down of him to others.
3. PHYSICAL INTIMACY...as wives, we are our husband's only righteous outlet when it comes to this and sexual purity.
4. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY...be content with what you have & know your husband is working hard. Their point was that coveting and envying what others have puts burden on the man that he isn't doing enough.
5. MAKE YOUR HOME A HAVEN...the wife sets the atmosphere in the home...they talked about putting a filter on your internet to protect your kids and husband from inappropriate material, pray the fruits of the Spirit (found in Galations) over your house, and use your home as a point of ministry.
6. RECREATIONAL COMPANIONSHIP...find things to do together with your spouse.
7. LOVE HIS FAMILY...as with all of our family, we are to love others with the love of the Lord.

A few other points to mention that was said at this conference: your spouse is not your enemy, so don't treat them that way. They are on your side and apart of the same team (since God's word says that 2 become 1 upon marriage)...Marriage is sacred, so we have to protect it and nourish it...Our spouse is supposed to be the most important part of the family dynamic and children should not be the center and focus of the house (think about this, how many marriages are defined by their children and surrounded by the kids...we see it all of the time)...As married couples, we are to show our children and the next generation how marriage was intended (God ordains marriage and intends to give us a helper...it is meant to be enjoyed--God didn't say to be miserable all the days of your life together)

Last but not least, I do realize it takes both parties working to make a marriage work...so if you are married, then please do your part. Afterall, we can't control the other person but we can encourage them and help them to be the best they can be.

More than One Issue...Upcoming election

This election is about more than one or two issues...and it's about more than just me and you. This election is about an immediate recovery, as well as a long term fix for our country on many levels. Unfortunately many of these issues tie together, but let's consider: (yes this is very long)
Social/Moral Issues- There are numerous things in this category...and I agree that government shouldn't be involved in these issues, but if you haven't noticed...it's too late.
1. Traditional Marriage vs Homosexual Marriage...this is a huge issue because it will have a great affect on our kids as they grow up (Biblical guidelines vs worldly ways). This has come into play with our military as well...which will also have an effect on our national security.
2. Abortion...children should not pay the price for their parents' sin. Whether its promiscuity or rape, this is a result of sin. There is no doubt I do not agree with this...but I definitely do not agree with the government taking my money in the form of taxes, and paying for this (that's what's happening).
3. Legalized Drugs...what good come truly come from this? One of my representatives here in Memphis is a huge advocate for this...I have seen how old friends of mine have gotten caught up in this cycle and there is nothing productive about it for our society...money is not worth a declining society.

The Economy-This comes down to ideology...I realize that. But lets look at a few facts:
1. In 2008 (When Obama was elected) gas was $1.85...it is anticipated to go up to $5 per gallon this summer. That is unacceptable...and it is sad that paying $3.25 right now sounds good considering it's  double what it was when this man took office.
2. Joblessness...WE NEED JOBS. So this is where you have to make the decision...do you think more job creation is needed for our economy to recover, or do you believe that like Pelosi who literally believe that food stamps and unemployment help our economy (By the way, those were intended to be temporary and to help people survive for a short period of time...not to live off of indefinitely)
3. Government jobs (taxpayer money) vs Private/Capitalistic jobs...this Administration has completely relied on creating jobs from our tax dollars. There have been minimal private sector jobs created under this administration.
4. Taxes...higher or lower. You only have about 1/2 of Americans paying income taxes...and that 1/2 paying them is paying for the other 1/2 who are not contributing to our country's finances, but yet who are the very ones taking handouts from our country. I don't care about tax rates per se...let's just say you make $100,000 per year and have a 10% tax rate=you pay $10,000 in taxes. So if you make a million ($1,000,000) and have a 5% tax rate=you pay $50,000 if I am not mistaken. Who cares about tax rate...the wealthy are still paying more money into the system. It isn't like they are paying less money because they are pulling their weight and then some.

Energy- In an economy such as ours, we need cheap energy because people are barely surviving right now...yes, it would be great to not have to rely on certain parts of the world for our energy, but at this point in time...it is too costly.
1. I will repeat the gas prices above...oil and gas mean energy. We depend on it...and the cost is going up tremendously and has gone up alot over the last 4 years. The reality is, this administration has had opportunities to do something about it (like the Keystone Pipeline from Canada that Obama rejected...
not only did this decision affect energy, but it affected job creation as well...or the lack there of)
2. Green energy...why do you think everyone doesn't drive electric cars? Because they are not efficient from an energy standpoint or money standpoint...atleast not at this point in time due to our economy. You could not mass produce this to make is sufficient. So, why wouldn't we use our country's own resources for things we need in abundance vs our government shoving these costly things down our throat at this time?

National Security- There are so many differing opinions on this one...
1. Isreal and our allies...The United States has always had a key ally in the Middle East in Isreal. Did you know that our President has not visited there one time during this term in office? In fact, he has undercut Isreal several times...there are several parts to this, but this also goes back to God's promises in the Bible regarding Isreal.
2. War...No one wants war. BUT, is it necessary sometimes? I believe so...there has always been war, but you have to have an ultimate threat. It amazes me how people forget 9-11 so easily...we didn't cause that war, we responded to it. Any President in their right mind would have done the same thing at that time...and besides that, Congress is the only one that can declare war...and that's exactly what happened under President Bush. He didn't declare war, Congress did as a result of 9-11.
3. The Middle East...This is a ideology issue, and at the route of it...it's a dangerous ideology of Islam vs freedom of the free world.
4. Immigration...you may not consider this a national security issue, but it is a big one. We have people in our country that we don't even know about...terrorism is real, the drug trade is real, crime is real...
not to mention, it is a federal law.

Big Government vs Small Government-I truly believe that most people don't realize why this ideology is so important...it is huge, because freedom is at stake. Do you think government should solve all of our problems, or do you think God ordained us to care for eachother...he gave us as individuals that order...not the government.
1. Handouts (food stamps, welfare, etc)...yes, some people couldn't survive without this. BUT, the majority take advantage of this. This disincentives people to work, to struggle, and to fight for their families. It has created a lazy, excuse ridden society...and to be honest with you, it creates a society dependent on the government rather than their own families and abilities. And, it literally buys votes. The government knows that the more people who grow dependent on it, will vote whatever means necessary to keep their handout.
2. Obamacare...there are soooo many consequences to this legislation. It violates our freedom because the government is not allowed to mandate we purchase something. It's a religous freedom issue as well...mandating the birth control, the Plan B (morning after abortion pill) be paid for by everyone and given for free to women...that's crazy, especially when it comes to churches, hospitals, charities, non-profit organizations that are convicted on these issues...you can't FORCE people to pay for something like this...but that is exactly what is going on.

LAWS- There are numerous federal laws that this administration has not upheld (which ironically, is against the law)
1. Voter bullying/intimdation...remember during the last election and in Pennsylvania there was video of the black panthers standing outside voting precents threatening and intimidating voters...that is illegal. And our administration under Obama and Attorney General Holder did NOTHING about this.
2. DOMA...Defense of Marriage Act. This is a federal law...and our justice system has refused to uphold this law. Kind of scary that they can determine what laws they chose to uphold or not. It's a law!
3. Immigration...Coming into our country illegally is the issue. No one complains about legal immigration. There are people in my family that have done this the proper way...but there are laws being broken daily and instead of our government reinforcing the laws, the have sued our very own states over this issue. Amazing how our states are the ones being punished by this administration when they try to enforce federal law huh.
4. Activist Judges (more of a local/state issue)...California is a prime example. The people of California voted to ban gay marriage in their state. So if the people voted against it, that should have been it. Instead, 1 of 2 judges overturned the very law that millions of citizens voted for. Just because they are a judge doesn't mean they trump the voice of millions. That's unacceptable and wrong.
5. Obamacare...once again, this is wrong on a federal level. This is unconstitutional which is the key thing. This was rammed down the throat of Americans whether they liked it or not...
6. Supreme Court Justices...this is one of the most important things about Presidential elections that people often overlook. A President's ideology is what will determine how they pick a Supreme Court Justice to appoint for life. More than likely the next President will appoint 2 people to this position. If you recognize the moral decline of our society and the push of boundaries, you will also recognize the importance of these Justices to have conservative values. They are the ultimate authority of our country...and this is one of the biggest deals considering most major controversial cases end up here.


Religions Freedom-This is a real issue...this administration is forcing its ideology down our throat and expects the Religious Right to sit back and take it.
1. Forcing people to go against their religious principles and beliefs is wrong...the contraception and Plan B pill are prime examples of this administration taking away religious freedom. It's illegal in this country and wrong.
2. This administration has also threatened chaplains in the military...so now that homosexuality is allowed in the military, how are Christians who stand with the Biblical view of this expected to uphold their moral convictions as Chaplains in the military? Will they be punished for upholding their beliefs?
3. Preachers of God's word...don't think for a second that preachers and outspoken pastors have not been threatened by this administration. It has 100% happened...ask David Jeremiah if you don't believe me. He was called by the White House because of his awareness and preaching...a little bit of bullying by our White House perhaps?

Get my point...although it may be very long? This election, and every election, is important. This isn't just about the hot button topics to today, but it is about an overall society pulling its on weight and being responsible in it's actions to better the country. That requires enforcing God's laws which have been the standard throughout time, enforcing the laws in our Constitution, etc. Healthy laws prevent chaos and give order...that's why they need to be enforced and why they are important. Get informed this election season...and by all means, VOTE. Don't vote for selfish gain, but vote based off of what will be best for our country and our next generation.

culture war = spiritual war

Are you aware that there is a culture war going on? That being said, I truly believe this culture war is primarily a battle of souls. Think about this...the Bible is clear of the battle of good and evil. If you aren't living for Christ and allowing him to guide your life, you are living for evil. You may think you have not made the choice to live for evil per se, but if you haven't made the decision to live for good (Christ) then you have chosen the only other option. Afterall, there are only 2 options...it's either or.

So I guess that is my plea to you...be aware that there is a battle for YOU, and for all of us. So first and foremost, you have to figure our what side you are working for...I pray and hope you chose to battle for Christ and His teachings found in the Bible. Most of those teachings are very clear, regardless of what society tells you. The truth is, the Bible is unchanging...God's word is unchanging and everlasting.

Our society and culture wants to rewrite history...they want to change what has always been. Black has now become white...right has now become wrong...and what was once shameful has become the accepted lifestyle. If we don't have a revival in our nation soon, this nation will truly keep sliding by the wayside...and you don't have to look far to see how God has handled nations that go against His ways...it's in the Bible. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah?

Supreme Court Justice...

Ruth Bader Ginsburg...she was appointed by Bill Clinton to the Supreme Court. So why in the world would I blog about this lady? Well, to prove the point of how important Presidential elections are on a long term scale. This woman was appointed in 1993. She has a lifetime appointment, as do all of these appointed officials. The reason I am bringing her up...because of her remarks she made recently on Egyptian television:

She trashed our US constitution (which by the way she has sworn an oath to uphold). She pretty much said that our consitution has not been a success and that she would look to other countries when forming a new consitution (Egypt is looking to do this). She said that countries like South Africa have a good modern day consitution....hmmm, do people from all over the world literally jump at the chance to move to South Africa? Are people literally dying to get into that country and make their family and possibility of hope better?
Or, has the United States been the most freedom oriented country ever known to man...has the United States been the most dominant country created because freedom has flourished over the years, because it's citizens have had the opportunity here to create a better life where the sky is the limit...

It is a disgrace that this woman holds the highest legal position in our country...and she is appointed for life. If you don't believe me...CLICK HERE and read it for yourself.

Economy getting better?

As you can tell...the lack of blogging for me has been building up! The recent unemployment report of 8% really ruffled my feathers...who honestly thinks the economy is getting better? Anyone who is actually in the work force, or who has been looking to get into the work force, knows that 8% number is inaccurate. Think through this with me...companies are not expanding, which means jobs are NOT being created. In fact, big companies are laying people off...

-American Airlines announced they are laying off 13,000 people (a huge portion of them are in the Dallas area)...tell them the economy is getting better when they are about to be out of work.
-3 major pharmaceutical companies are laying off (one of them are laying off 60% of their sales force):
        Novartis, Takeda, AstraZeneca...and think about what the lack of pharmaceutical reps mean.
(It means there are obviously fewer jobs, and then the other risidual companies that will be effected like restaurants who depend on these drug companies during lunch hours, the companies who depend on drug companies to use their printing services for marketing materials, for packaging services when it comes to supplying samples, etc....It isn't just drug companies who will lose out, it will be all of the businesses that depend on them too)
-Smaller drug companies that have closed their doors over the last year...and there are many of them. Those jobs are not coming back...

Obviously I know people personally affected by the downsizing of these Pharmaceutical companies...
Some initially had to work at a movie theater at night to bring money in, while they were looking for another career job. Some of these people have never found that career job in almost a year...so that 8% unemployment rate doesn't include these people who are struggling to survive...
That rate doesn't include another friend who was laid off years ago, who has been able to find another stable job since...and for almost 3 years has been in and out of the work force. There aren't many jobs out there that pay well, that provide benefits, and that are hiring.

Here's my point...the Washington number crunchers can say whatever they want about unemployment rate. The reality is we need jobs in this country. We need our government to facilitate a job creating agenda...and I mean private sector jobs, not jobs that are government based that will rely on our tax dollars that we don't have to spend...
This current administration has not created jobs...they have over regulated certain industries that have made it harder to survive and compete...they have literally had the opportunity to create jobs with the stroke of a pen and have chosen not to (The Keystone Pipeline from Canada to Texas would have created thousands of temporary and permanent jobs...Obama said no because of environmental issues. So our environment is more important than the people trying to survive in the worst economy since the Great Depression...I think not)

This economy sucks...and people need and want to get back to work. The only way for this to happen is to get business minded people into office, to get people who believe in the FREE market capitalism that has made this country successful, and to get less regulations on industries/companies that will allow companies to be successful and be able to turn a profit in this down economy. Can we say, we need a new administration???
