Quick Update
For those of you reading, I have sad news...my cousin's baby didn't survive. My cousin went into labor yesterday morning at about 23 weeks gestation. Her little girl passed away minutes after delivery. My heart goes out to them, so please keep them in your prayers. I can't imagine delivering a baby, but not being able to bring her home. Thanks.

Prayer Request
I have a prayer request for those of you reading this...my first cousin, who has been much more like a sister to me over the years, has some tough days ahead for her and her family. She has a husband and 4 year old daughter. Since her daughter, they have attempted to grow their family. She had a miscarriage, and then got pregnant again. This time (the 3rd pregnancy), started off okay and then the bleeding began. To the best of my understanding, not everything connected correctly inside her. A blood vessel did not attach to the placenta, which caused the bleeding. Doctors gave her a 50/50 chance of the baby surviving. The blood makes her body want to have contractions. She is currently 22 weeks...
Yesterday, her water broke...this obviously means she will have to deliver the baby soon. The chances of survival are slim and the baby would probably have severe issues because it is so early. Please pray for them...Thanks and Merry Christmas!

What sport do the best atheltes partake in?
You always hear the debate...or maybe not always, but it is out there! What sport has the best athletes? Tiger Woods just got "Athlete of the decade" because he has been so dominant in the sport of golf. To be as consistent as he has been...he probably deserves that award. However, we know his strength and hand-eye coordination is amazing...but we all see huge overweight men who are good at golf. For that reason, I don't think golf is it.
What about basketball, football, softball, volleyball...I definitely think there are incredible athletes in all of these sports. Running, jumping, hitting, swinging, shooting, etc...I played college basketball with and against some great athletes, but I still don't think it is the best.
I will give soccer alot of credit...I don't know a ton about it, but from the endurance standpoint and conditioning it has to be ridiculous to play at a high level. But, they are the best in my opinion either.
After going to a UFC (Ultimate Fighting) event this past weekend...those guys are the best athletes in my opinion. Let me clarify...the elite, champions, of the UFC are the best athletes. I have learned a lot about wrestling from my husband over the years. The mental aspect of cutting weight, conditioning, and knowing all of the counter-moves to the offensive moves...not to mention you depend on yourself; there aren't other teammates. In mixed martial arts, which is the UFC...wrestling is just one aspect. You then throw in the combined sports they have to be great at to reach the top level...boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, karate, conditioning, cutting weight, submissions, wrestling...it's amazing.
Let me know what you think...and when you respond, let me know why you think like you do.

Alabama's First Heisman...
Can I get another Roll Tide!!!!! For the first time in our football program, we have a winner...a Heisman Trophy winner! After growing up an Alabama fan and going to games, I can't believe we have never had a Heisman winner before now. Think about all of the greats who have played there. Anyway, tonight that all changed. Congratulations Mark Ingram. Yes I am biased, but I honestly can't even believe it was close. The SEC has been dominant this year. It was and is the best football conference. So if Mark Ingram has rolled over every opponent (with the exception of one), how was it even close? He was running against the best defenses in the country. Atleast most of the voters saw it that way too...ROLL TIDE ROLL.
On another note, let's discuss one more collegiate football player...Tebow. Did he seriously finish 5th? That's crazy to me too. Yes he has had a ridiculous amount of media attention over the years, and I somehow feel like that hurt him. People have got tired of hearing about him. How do you break Herschel Walker's rushing record and get 5th place? Once again, I think Tebow has been so consistent and so good, that it is expected. He hasn't been able to have an amazing game and year, because he does it every time.
Well...as Alabama fans, we have one more award to take home...the National Championship!

Congress wants their hands in everything!
I'm sitting here watching the news when the following headline showed up...Congress to get involved in the college BCS issue. A Texan representative said the only way there will be a play off system in the BCS is for Congress to act on it. Seriously? Seriously?
Between the crazy Healthcare issue & the ridiculous "Cap & Trade" (aka Cap & Tax issue)...don't you think they have enough on their plate? I love how they are dipping their hands in everything. The comment on the college BCS is that the current system isn't fair...tough crap! Life isn't fair. Everything is not equal, no matter how much they want it to be that way.
It is like the same ole analogy that I'm sure we have all heard...imagine the situation:
You are in college when the professor passes out grades. You have worked your tail off and made A's on every grade. Therefore, your grade would be an A. When you receive your final grade, you get a C. When questioning the professor, you realize what he did. He says, everyone didn't make A's like you. Some didn't show up to class or study hard...they made F's. To make everyone equal, I gave you all C's whether it was earned or not. Now how would that make you feel? Honestly for me, I would be irate! I worked hard in college...I got what I deserved, a 3.5 gpa. You think I wouldn't have gone crazy if given a 2.5 I didn't earn?
In theory, this is exactly what our government is doing in so many different aspects. I see people everyday who want "free" healthcare, but yet don't want to work for it.
It's also like the world leaders who have been meeting in Copenhagen...this so called "crisis" on our environment. If carbon and gas are such a big deal...then why were they all so eager to fly in on their private jets and literally rent out all of the limos in the entire area. What a double standard! Talk about hypocrisy!
So here is my message to our government...stay out of our lives! We, as Americans, can take care of ourselves with the help of God, not government! For those of you out there who don't keep up, they are truly trying to control Americans and hope we just sit by and do nothing. This is their attempt at equality...but that isn't reality. We were all created equal, but that doesn't mean we are equal!

Pasadena get ready...the Tide will come rolling in soon!
I just wanted to give a quick shout out to all of you Alabama fans out there...or those who were just pulling against Florida! Growing up about an hour from Tuscaloosa, it was hard not to be an Alabama fan...obviously you cheered for either Alabama or the other team (Auburn).
Tonight it feels great! We have now earned the position to play for a National Championship!
Can't wait to see who our opponent is...all I know, is We (Alabama) will be ranked #1 tomorrow!

Tiger Woods...choice of words
So if you pay attention to any type of media, you have heard about Tiger Woods...arguably the greatest golfer ever. So think about this, are non-Christians expected to be held to the same standards Christians are? Initially I want to say yes, but when you think about it there is no reason for someone who doesn't know Christ and this teachings to follow them. Right? So with Tiger being atheist, is it really as big of a deal that he cheated numerous times on his wife? Why would we expect him to be held to the same standard? Just something to think about.
Following this same concept, I just feel the word choice "transgressions" he used in his statement to be interesting. Obviously it can be used out of biblical context, but that is what you normally associate the word transgression with.
As Christians, this is another reason we are held to a higher standard. We are the exception to this sinful world; we have hope and the ultimate Creator on our side. We have a reason to respect our wedding vows...because they are based on God's law and his holy matrimony. As for Tiger...I pray he realizes what he has done to those who adore him, including his wife and two kids. Although he is great at his golfing profession, he has become a stereotypical professional athlete. We realize he is human, and in need of the Christ that frees us from sin!
