What shapes your thoughts? Do you ever realize the impact of the media...whether it comes from lyrics on the radio, talk radio, tv, the computer, etc...all of these type of things shape our mind.
Romans 12:2-->Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Colossians 3:2-->Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.
So here's the challenge...pay attention to to where you get your information. Do the people involved claim to be Christians? If so, do their actions back it up? The reason I make this comment...our religious beliefs shape our life, decisions, opinions, etc...(For example...Oprah...I have heard her claim to be a christian, but then make comments on how other roads lead to God, etc...obviously I don't know her heart, but this is contradictory of the Christian faith that says we can only get to heaven by accepting Christ as our Lord and allowing him to transform our lives)
Obviously television is a little tricky when it comes to this...let's be honest, there isn't too much innocent/pure tv these days. Luckily since I am in my car a lot, I have realized how many Christian based radio channels there are. Try looking up "K-love" (commercial free Christian music), "AFR...American Family Radio", "Air 1"...more alternative type Christian music, etc...atleast you can check the internet to see if these particular stations are in your area. The positive thing, if you have children you don't have to worry about the lyrics or words that are said on the radio. Let me know how it goes...I truly feel it makes a difference in my life!
